I can't give you an exact dollar amount, but my guess is, it is worth more than I am.

I see a 99 model year such as yours sold on the auction site for $45, so I'd imagine in that neighborhood. More knowledgable collectors may weigh in.

It's a nice knife that I wouldn't be afraid to carry and use unless it has some sentimental value you'd like to keep put away for the memories.

i was hoping 300 would chime in......i sure hope you're worth more than
the knife though friend......i think if it's worth more than anyone, well almost anyone
then it's a high dollar piece of cutlery.......there are a few i wouldn't give 2 cents for.....
but i can always pray for em......thanks for your reply anyway,jd

Actually Joe,I hope someone got a deal......If that's all it's worth then Im gonna keep it for sure.
I also have the 311,but it's in used condition.....I've actually seen more 311s than 312s,but im not
that knowledgeable....Nor do I look that often....JD

This is a Sears knife made by Camillus, it is brand new, in the box as yours is. I also have guarantee, care papers and receipt dated 1995. I carried its identical twin sister for over 20 years which replaced a Buck Cadet I lost. The Sears is every bit the knife the Cadet was. I would certainly sell the NIB knife for $40 and grin about it.

are you comparing the sears stockman to the trapper?....i don't think they're values are the same, but
i do like your knife....if i had 40.00 i'd probably buy it from you......i would not sell my 312 for 40.00 though.
it may not be worth 40.oo,but is to me......i just wish i had a nice 311,and a single blade.....i don't think they
made a single blade though.....not sure,no expert,jd

I guess I was comparing the Sears knife to the Buck Cadet. My purpose tho was to say unsharpened, unused knifes in the box aren't worth an exorbitant amount over used ones. The receipt shows I paid <$16 for the Sears knife 20 years ago.

JD,

I would say that $40 to $50 is the top value in the current market.

I have a drawer full of knifes, one for every occasion I can think of. I'm happy with what I have

I am sure glad you guys ended your drive down the knife selling road filled with potholes of the rules. As a Gold member JD can talk about value and costs a little bit more than DDD can. Want to know what I am talking about then go read the Blade Forum rules.

Also was OK with DDD talking about Sears knife comparing in value to Cadet. But, talking too much about other companies knives in the Buck forum can lead to thin ice quickly. So everyone be cautious in doing that on a regular or multi post basis. The main theme of all posts has to be something "BUCK".

Bert's values are decent. The 312 black sawcut trapper is not old enough and the numbers made were high enough that it is not considered rare. A good steady well made pocket sized trapper. They are discontinued and there availability will dry up some over time. There is a rosewood scaled version that was offered for a short period and it is about double in value of Bert's quote above. The Yellowhorse versions approach three digits, especially the one with inlay on both sides. I don't think I have one of those.

Hope, you got the info you needed even if your value was not. 300

Hold up a second, you do have a rare 312. I just noticed you have one of a production run where the shield was put in upside down. The knife is cutting the bolt toward the blades. It is usually the other way around. Adds a small amount in value, maybe 10 or 12 bucks over regular model. 300
