I swear every VG-10 knife I have has a micro pattern that looks like waves. Itty bitty micro undulations that look "watery" in the light.
And every 154CM has a satiny grey look that isn't at all like the VG-10.
And the 1095s look like very shiny chrome (if they haven't discolored)
The 1095s "look" harder even if they aren't if that makes any sense at all.
440C looks grayish also and more smooth than either VG or 154.
