Can the blades on BM's Axis locks be swapped?: e.g. 940 for 941?

I'd be quite interested to know if the blades can be switched. With the self adjusting property of the Axis lock, I figured it wouldn't matter if I dropped in a different blade. Of course, I'm talking same handle shapes like all the different 940 versions. I was just thinking that when I get one of the CF handled 941's, I'd like to slip in the reverse tanto shaped blade of the 940.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hmmm. This may not be the definitive answer on this, but I took a close look at my 940 and 943 (same as the 941) and it looks as though they are identical. I think it will work with no problem.

Also, from a purely production point of view, it would be far more cost effective from BM's perspective if both blade types could be accomodated by the same handle.

Yes. I have swapped many blades on Benchmades.

The blades as they come from the factory are as close to identical as they can make them. Otherwise every knife would require hand fitting.
