I really want to get a Falkniven U-2 to try out the steel. However, it does not have an adjustable pivot, and if it can be flicked open then I can’t get one. (Stupid Canadian laws)
So my question to all you U-2 owners out there is. Can you flick your U-2 open?

Thanks for your help.

The pivot is adjustable. It can't be flicked open.

To reiterate what has been said, nope, can't be flicked open! It has a nail nick on both sides of the blade.

Any knife can be flicked open if rotated fast enough and stopped suddenly, the U2 would be very difficult to do so by hand, it would be similar to intertial opening a SAK for example.

I saw someone post a picture of one they put a one armed bandit on for one handed opening. But, still no flicking open.

The pivot is adjustable?! Well that solves my problem right there.

Cliff, that is one of my biggest pet peeves. When user skill determines whether something is or is not illegal, the law (against opening a knife with centrifugal force) is so variable that it’s almost worthless.

Thanks for all the input guys, you’re a big help.

Yes, what is bad is the law defines no standard, so you can for example own and carry a knife which you are not physically capable of inertial opening, but this doesn't make it legal. The laws are odd in canada, you can buy knives in stores openly which are illegal, with *no* warnings. It is rare though that this is an issue of contention, though it does happen from time to time, cases can be seen on the forums.
