can the g-10 scales on a pm2 be changed? also s35vn sprint worth the 30 bucks

Im thinking of picking up the s35vn sprint pm2 but I have never owned a knife made of this steel and am curious if its that much better than the s30v used on my reg pm2. Also the brown handles look terrible to me. Is it possible to swap these out for a set of black ones off a standard pm2, and can you buy scales from spyderco directly if indeed they can be swapped.

The performance of S35VN in the Mule did not impress me as being superior to S30V by any appreciable amount, but I'm pretty hard on my knives. As for swapping scales, first I don't believe Spyderco sells scales by themselves, and second, the lanyard tube is flared on the ends, so removing the scales is difficult, and installing new ones will likely result in a loose lanyard tube rattling around, assuming you don't manage to break the new scales in the process of installing them.
 
yes they can be changed, Bison Knives can make custom scales for you in any color you want. He does great work
