Replaced by the owner. Never owned an SAK before today and I knicked this one getting it out of the blister pack.

was it deep? pr very light? if it doesn't affect the preformance, just forget about it, you will get more over time anyway :D

Geron,

First off...Welcome to BladeForums.:).

Second...Don't worry about a few nicks and scratches on the scales of SAKs, as that is completely a normal occurrence, and the only way to prevent that from happening is to never remove it from its' blister pack or box.

You can actually pull the scales off with your fingers!! sometimes you need a utility knife blade to separate the scale a little to get your finger tip in enough to pry it off. If I were you though, I would wait until the scales are in really bad shape before removing them. The handles on saks are cellidor and will scratch easily, but they will also last along time.

When you do get ready to remove them you can think about making some nice wood scales, bone, stage or, horn, ect. Ive replaced many on the Victorinox versions, I drill recesses in the scales for the pins, and glue the scales on with 2 ton waterproof epoxy.

The liners on the wenger versions are recessed into the plastic scales so you will have to consider that you would probably want to do the same to the scales you make before assembling. In other words the liners are not as wide, nor as long as the scales they use. So you will end up with it a little akward if they are not done right.
