Scored a Jackhammer at Blade. Used it for a steak/chicken knife on some leftovers Tuesday evening. Worked great, that edge is unbelievable, may be the sharpest edge I've ever seen on a Busse. Last night I went out to finish the yard (weedeating & tree trimming). I used the JH to limb some yard trees that needed pruning and to bust up a dead tree that had fallen on the driveway. At first, I thought I needed a lanyard to give me a little more leverage, then I got the hang of it. I think the reason I thought that was the downed tree was practically petrified. It worked better when I just used the JH to break it into a couple of small pieces so I could drag it to the woods. Next I trimmed back a small poplar on the edge of the drive way. I was taking off limbs as big as a finger with one stroke after I got the hang of it. Next I moved on to limbing one of the bigger hardwoods. I was chopping overhead, while on a hill, making the V. I was still impressed with how it performed for such a "short" knife. As tired as I was, I don't think I could have swung the FFBM overhead like that without risking decapitation
Got me thinking that the Sarsquatch might have been a better choice, given it's added length. As much as I love the FFBM, it's a bit much to wear for 2 hours while weedeating in long pants when the temperature is hovering just below 90. I'm still tyring to figure out a sheath that will mount the FFBM on my pushmower. I'll be the only guy on the block with a $500 dollar knife strapped to a $150 mower. I had to stop and go get cleaned up, so my wife could run to Wal-Mart. When I came in and took the JH off, my 2 year old came over to investigate. I told her it was a knife. She touched the sheath and said "knife". It's a start
I'll try to snap some pics of the brush pile over the weekend. Don't you just hate a tease
