Can the Police3 be made to wave as well as an Emerson?

I'm wondering what people's experience has been with waving the Police3 (or any Police for that matter). If I was to add a zippie would it wave as well as an Emerson CQC8?

Do you have a police already?

If so, just do it yourself! Zipties are not permanent and they are easy to remove.

No I don't have a Police3, I'm considering one. I can't find all the attributes I'm after in one knife so whatever I get will be a compromise. I'm a big fan of waving a knife open (or at least the ability to do so) so if I can get this from the Police3 that would clinch it for me. I'm just curious about other people's experience with this.

I had a police 3 waved (sold it a while back), it was done well, worked well, opened with major authority. Wasnt the easiest to draw if I recall, mainly because the g10 on the one i had wasnt as grippy as I would of liked it to be, that and it rides pretty low in the pocket If I recall right. Ill dig a pic up once I get to my mac, it was the nastiEst folder I owned back in the day.

A lockback will not wave as easily as a linerlock simply due to the pressure of the locking spring. Once the detent of a linerlock is defeated, it has no more resistance. A lock back has resistance opening for the first bit of travel (unless you depress the lock). So, a Police will not wave as EASILY as an Emerson, but easy enough.

I think expecting a home-brew lash up to work as well as a well engineered feature on a production knife is rather foolish.

That style of wave mod is major overkill. You don't need to cut all the way through the opening hole.

This video shows my buddy Gavko's waved Para 2.

Many tip up folders can be waved with a small notch towards the rear of the blade. I've done it on a couple myself.

Mine was waved and double edged.
