Sure, it'll shorten the blade..... as much as I like a drop point, I find the SAK blade to be just a fine shape. You might want to just try it before you go tinkering. SAKs are about perfect as a pure utility knife. Nothing needs changing on them.
Yup! these are a few me and my friend Mighty Max played around with a few months back. I just used a Dremel tool. His are obviously a better job than mine. (posted by Willy)
I experimented with turning one into a Sheepsfoot on an old knife I had before modifying one of my good ones .
I just wasn't 100% happy with the way it turned out , so never took it any further .

Perhaps consider getting an Electrician? This may give you more of the combo you're after. Although the blade may not be the length you want. Just a thought.
The nail nick really causes problems by where it is positioned on the main blade .
It doesn't give you many options , and to achieve the Sheepsfoot blade in the previous picture , the blade had to be narrowed down and the belly or curve of the blade removed to make it a straight line .
But having seen how some people here have made their SAK's into easy openers then that does open up a few new options and the nail nick could be removed entirely .
I think I'll have to do some measuring and thinking
I can see what you mean. I hope if you give it another go you'll post some pics here. I don't mind the spear blade on a SAK, but I do like the thoughts of a longer Sheepsfoot.
Thanks for the info and response.
