Can the Wicked Edge clamp hold a Zero Tolerance 560 or 350?

I only ask because I have not been able to find anything on these knives specifically, but I have heard a few complaints that the shape at the top of the blade is a problem for some Knives which appear similar to mine. I have seen folks use tape to fill in the gaps or help it fit, but it seems that this would throw of the geometry of the angle the rods would hit the blade at.

I am drooling over a new Wicked sharpener (gulp!!!) even though it is super spendy but I don't want to put down hundreds for system which only works marginally with home made remedies.

It would be great if someone had some hands on experience with this set up.

Thanks

Scott,

Hey man, the weps does in fact hold the 560 as I have both. No idea on a 350 though.

It can definitely hold both knives.
Also, if your worried about angles, you can buy an angle cube.

For FFG knives, it's recommended by Clay Allison himself that you use thin foam tape. It shouldn't alter the angle in any appreciable way since the foam will compress very thinly at the thicker top. The tricky thing about the 350 is the recurve.

Has anyone seen or done a YouTube video of a big recurve knife being sharpened on a wicked edge system such as a ZT 350 or 300 or any recurve. I think you have to do a bit of experimenting to get correct placement of the blade to get even and consistent beveling along the entire edge. I'm just not sure how easy or hard it would be to get right for someone with no experience at all with sharpening.

If anyone could supply a link to a video or even a website with photos that would be great. Thanks
