My wife and I attended Blade Show 14' with our friend JD4320t, none of us had ever been, so we wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and get in on that Trough Raid. :) Well, we were hooked to say the least, what a great time, Busse really knows how to treat their customers. We all know they make the most comfortable, toughest, crazy cool knives on the planet! But the people, I mean, geez! How do you get all that, with people you can talk to? That don't look at you like you are bothering them? All that while they're running back and forth like their heads are on fire and being asked questions from all angles. It's amazing! Pokey, Josh, Lexi, Beef, Watson, and Shaylee, thank you! Jerry, thank you for creating the family friendly atmosphere to go along with your nuclear end of the world, zombie apocalypse, out live the roaches knives!

We had such a great time last year, and saw it was family friendly, we brought our youngest son this year. He was inducted as a HOG at the Induction Dinner, by Jerry, BUSSE! with the ASH-II!:D how cool is that?!?! And that's not it, we get to hangout with all of these great people, get to know them a little, share our HOG stories, play games, smile and laugh together.

We met Al and DeAnn Welke that evening after inductions, DeAnn's 80's attire was awesome! My wife gave Al some advice on the "longest ash" contest, she was afraid he was going to make himself sick, she's a mom, she can't help it. We had a great time talking and getting to know Al and DeAnn that evening. Well, Sunday morning my wife was asked if they could send my son some decals, they knew he would like them. They showed up today, And what a surprise my son got! Al and DeAnn, you are amazing people, and craftsmen! Thank you!

It fits perfect, and is beautiful! He has it on now, I'm not sure I'll be able to get him to take it off until the end of summer, when he has to go to school, :D

Very well said ! I was able to attend Blade 14 and couldn't agree more with all you've said !!! Sorry we didn't get to meet or shake hands, I think we went after some of the same cards tossed out lol :-) Being my first blade show I think I spent a lot of time in shock or something ? Lol. I'll be at 2016 though !!

Great sheaths they look awesome !!!
Congrats on your son being inducted !!!

Great story! I'm really enjoying this Busse family! GREAT people all through this forum!

I second everything said by DaKruiser. The Busse Crew definitely goes above and beyond like no one else. You don't know it until you're there and actually see it. They're pulled in every direction and their only real break is during the offerings.

My daughter and I had a great time and can't wait for next year. Everyone was great and made her feel right at home. She enjoyed her first trough and she's a hog now for sure.

Thanks again.

I agree with all of the above! Didn't get to talk to you guys much this year but it was great seeing ya Kruiser and JD.
Glad your kids had a blast its definately a family friendly event all the away around.

Thank You for the pics, you very welcome :) Glad your son likes it!!
Thank You to the Busse crew as well.
Al and DeAnn

Thank you DaKruiser!!! We feel the same way about our amazing customers!!! It was my first Blade Show (and this is my first Forum post!!!) and I was blown away by the welcoming kindness (and patience as I learn how to take care of the best customers in the world!!!) that I was shown by all of you! It was awesome to meet so many Hog Family members and I absolutely can't wait till next year!!!

Busse People? Let me tell you about Busse People! If you are an old-time Hog you have heard these stories, so this is for the newer guys.

It was late 2002 or early 2003. My daughter Kim was lying in a nursing home in a vegetative state, a hit and run victim with a life-threatening head injury. I had just received one of the first run Active Duties, a satin/snakeskin Custom Shop offering. Kim had been a dedicate knife and gun nut. I took the AD to the nursing home, held it up in front of her eyes, and told her that this was her knife that I was putting away for her to carry on our next deer hunt. (The idea of her ever deer hunting again was insane to the doctors who had told us she would never be any more than what was lying there. It took a few years but we made that hunt.) I told this story on this forum. A week later a package arrived containing another Custom Shop Active Duty and a note from Jerry and Jennifer saying that they wanted to replace the one I had given Kim.

Fast forward to the next Blade Show. At the second ever Hog induction, Kim was made the second inducted Hoggette. The Busse crew made a big deal of it, Jerry presented her with a Steel Heart E with a special inscription on the Blade. Never being one to avoid attention, she was thrilled.

A few weeks later, a sheath for her SH-E arrived from Oakuden Sheaths. Then, a Busse little finger knife came for an anonymous sender.

Kim has been to several Blade Shows since, and has been thoroughly accepted and loved by the greater Busse family. Heck, they even tolerate me hanging around.

That's your Busse people for ya'!

Mike, love you and kim. For those that don't know, Mike is 8' 9" tall and has twice the reach of Shack, which is how he gets all the knives he wants at the Busse table.:D

Mike it is always a pleasure to see you at the show. Make sure to give Kim a great big hug from the crew we miss her.

Mike, it was great to meet you and Kim at Blade 14', she is a sweet heart. Thank you for sharing your story, it's inspiring to say the least!

It was great seeing everyone and it's awesome to hear you had such a good time  Everyone at the Busse shop always looks forward Blade Show. It's one of the few times each year we get to actually see you guys and it get's better and better every year!

It's great to be here and it was wonderful meeting you two!!!! I've never met a real Fairy Godmother;)
