I'm still new here so this question may need moving.I have been looking for a kissing crane. One I beleive to have been made before 1975.I have found one the right size with the right blades but the handles are all wrong.I have found another one ,much older but with the right type handles.I beleive they are buffalo horn. The older one has handles I beleive would fit the one I found with room to spare. My question is...could the handles be changed out to what I wanted it to look like and if so what ,in round about numbers, would it cost? Thanks.

A short answer is -Probably not (unless you are using them as wall hangers).
Each nakago is fitted to its tsuka exactly. Any play and the tsuka could come off or split. While it is possible to shim/fill the cavity and refit the handle, it is not advisable except for show only.
That said, have you considered having a new tsuka shell made for the fittings on the handle you like. Once the shell is fitted, and the tsuka-make in tied, you will have what you want. You could do this yourself, or have it done.

Boy, that was dumb of me. I was thinking of the kissing crane swords (can't remember who makes them-Henway, Chen?) now that I think harder, I don't think it is Kissing Cranes, but just Crane katana. Ignore me.
