Can this Clip point blade be shaped into a different blade?

It looks like the only thing you can do without really shortening the blade is to make it sort of a wharncliffe and give it a nearly-straight edge, from the sharpening-cutout right to the tip. That would probably be a pretty useful utility type blade.

Thanks and I'll keep it in mind. I just received a call from Christine over at GEC and they said they are going to try and replace the blade for me.
