Hallo Kabar,

I am wondering if there are any plans for development / production of two knifes that might fit nicely in the current line-up. Or maybe it’s a good idea to think about it ;)

- Will there be a EK 3/4 (three quarter) model? Those EK knife look awesome. A short boot-knife / dagger type could be a nice contribution. I can think of many application a shorter, nine-ish inch overall, EK!

- The USMC variants have recently been updated with a higher saber grind. Is this ‘modification’ also in the pipeline for the Kabar Short USMC variations?

- Also the full size USMC variants hard shell plastic sheath had a update. Currently it covers the entire cross-guard (instead of the older style which didn’t have this). Will the 3/4 variants have a hard shell plastic sheath that covers the cross-guard?

Looking forward to your reply!

Indeed Noswad. But there isn't a 3/4 (three quarter) model announced. Like full-size Kabar and a 3/4 Short Kabar.

(Changed the thread name because this confusion)

Would presume boot knives be part of the future line up,
It would be worth the wait, if ever.
But somethin 4 inches would be what i m after.

Ohh, sorry. Don't really know much about Ek's. Just though you were talking about models.

There was a picture/advertisementposter posted of the EK 7 model. Can't see it any more.

Those EK #7 are the boot-knife I'm hoping Ka-bar will release. Awesome blade! I wrote before about a 3/4 model at 9 inch. A around 7 inch would be even better.

Well...7 to max 8 inch overall, proportional handle-blade length, 3mm thick and CroVan!!!! Can I get a Amen ;)

I have one of those as does a friend of mine. Both bought at the same time from Cutlery Shoppe back in the 90's, came with a cordura sheath. VERY thick, serrations are butter knife dull, interesting knife but not very practical. Loved the old M4 and M5 but the price for those was out of range for me at the time. The EK dive knife was on closeout i think somewhere in the $50-$80 range. Going to eventually pick up at least one of the Kabar Ek Bowies, possibly an EK 43 as well.
