I know it's a knife board, but guns and knives have a whole chocolate & PB thing going on. And many knife owners are also gun owners. Makes sense to give gun discussion a place here, doesn't it?

Clearly you don't want that, and that's fine. Thanks for your input. It's just an idea, perhaps a bad one, but an idea nonetheless.
 
The main problem as I see it would be an influx of folks whose primary interest may be firearms, and not knives, which may dilute, sidetrack and otherwise degrade the quality of the other threads dedicated to our primary mission.

Ultimately, it's Spark Spark 's decision...I think there are better venues for that pursuit, personally.

Which is it? Both. Guns are a sideshow here, and there is plenty of discussion on them already.

They don’t need their own dedicated section here because this isn’t a gun forum. I am a member on a few gun boards and never thought to ask “where’s the knife section?”

Absolutely! And there are similar answers from other Folk. We do have a significant and lovely ongoing thread for knives and guns. A perfect formula, mostly about uhhh....knives.... and their Friends. Why don't we have a major thread for classic cars? No knives necessary; I mean after all, lots of knife collectors love classic cars. Or maybe old film cameras? Knife collectors love old cameras. No knives necessary. Bicycles!!!! OK; I jest. The necessary posts have already been made. Oh.. wait... Delphinium gardening enthusiasts?
