Since the exciting catalog reveal of the Native 5 Salt with LC200N, can we now dare to hope for a Manix 2 back lock salt?

I sincerely hope so. I prefer plain edged knives and I want decent edge retention, but still want to be able to sharpen the knife without having to take it hope to the sharpening apparatus. The Native 5 Salt is exciting and a must have for me, but what would be even more awesome would be the Manix 2 Back Lock in a Salt.

I think if they made a LC200N version of all the popular models they would sell like hot cakes. Imagine being able to use your favorite knife at the beach, fishing and in any scenario where you would usually worry about water getting in the pivot, pocket sweat, or food types staining blades. If they made a LC200N Military i would buy 3 of them.

If you need that same blade in an almost Salt right now just buy a LW S110V model. I have a Native 5 LW in S110 and carried it in my bathing suit for 2 days at the beach in Tampa last summer and it didn't even rust. I even forgot to rinse it for several hours the first day after getting back (because I was drunk mostly) and still not ill effects just some dried salt residue. S110V is about as close to stain free as you can get short of H1 I think, having 16% Cr along with 9% V to take up most of the C is probably why.

Also, it wasn't just salt water, I had sunscreen (which I assume is corrosive) and sweat touching it...I wear really tight bathing suits, think Borat.

I think the big challenge with giving this model the salt treatment is making the coil spring and maybe even the bearing rust proof. I'm sure there is a way tho, and would love to see it.
