Sure, what do you usually use a knife for? How do you like to carry it? Are you right handed or left handed? Any laws that need to be worked around?

As a non informed suggestion I'd go with a Delica. Great all around knife.

If he could find one that would be great, but it's a $170 knife when new. :D

I would suggest Endura 4 FFG, Stretch, or Manix 2 (those are what I would buy with $80).

Manix is a very nice (heavier) edc that rides well in pocket.
Manix 2 is a nice lightweight option to the regular Manix, no liners and a FRN type handle.
I don't have the Stretch.
Endura is lightweight with a 4" blade and a handle suited to large hands.
Delica, IMHO, is the ultimate edc choice from Spyderco.

The regular production manix is the manix 2. The lightweight is simply called the lightweight manix 2 or the translucent blue manix 2. Though there is a black version now.

Manix 2 is def a great choice.

The blue FRN is the lightweight version and really is a light carry.

The Stretch is also a great choice at around $75.

Then I'd also recommend the Tenacious line(Tenacious, Ambitious, Persistence, Resilience).

Multiple sizes depending on preference and are all well worth the money.

The Endura/Delicas are great all around knives. You can find some for a steel (VG10) here on the for folders sale by in individual forums.

If a 3" blade works for you, you can't beat the Sage 1 in my opinion. If you can find one used or manage to swing $100, you'll never regret having a Sage 1. Even with all of the high end knives I own, the Sage 1 still finds it's way into my pocket a lot. S30V, FFG, awesome ergos of the Sage line, leaf blade is great for EDC, super lightweight, and great strength.

Agreed. Delica is as close to EDC perfection as it gets IMO.

What knife do you use the most currently?

All of the suggestions so far have been great, prefer the Endura for it's longer blade. The Manix 2 (lightweight or heavy) is a close second.

If you want smaller like the Delica, the Native is an option worth looking at.

Even smaller? Check out the Dragonfly.

Manix 2.
If you like a lighter knife, get the lightweight in either Blue or Black.
If you're okay with a little heavier and a better blade steel get the G-10 in s30v.

G-10 gets my vote. =]

I think the lightweight lockbacks are all within your price range. Endura and Stretch are both a bit larger. Delica, in my opinion, is a near perfect urban EDC size. Dragonfly is a good smaller knife (sub-2" blade). Ladybug/Manbug are great keychain knives, but they have no pocket clip. You could even pick up the smaller models (maybe even the Delica) in ZDP-189 as well and stay within your price range.

Well I am going to be "that guy" and suggest you add 24.95 to your budget and get the Endura with the ZDP-189 blade steel.

Or if you are the patient type you could wait for the Endura with the super blue steel for 90 bucks

Good suggestions, maybe a Delica in ZDP would be a good fit as well. Man, the SB versions are around the corner. Should be epic!

I would go with a Manix2, regular or lightweight. Or if you could find a used Para Military 2 it is an excellent choice.
