Can you buy Res C handles direct from Busse or Scrap yard?

I just bought a Basic 11 and really prefer the thicker New style basic handle/dogfather handle. I want to replace the existing handle with the New style basic. Does anyone know if you can order one from Busse or the Scrap Yard?
 
Sorry, I don't know the answer to this one.. but I'm surprised to see you got another Basic 11. I'm not a stalker or anything :p but I thought you really liked your Dogfather and thought a Basic 11 was redundant, so you sold it. Did you sell your Dogfather off?

Not to worry, the Basic 11 is still good for making fine shavings :thumbup: at least my asymmetric is, with the flat ground side on the left (I'm right handed).
 
Id say no but if you email and ask/offer beer for them to do it then Im sure they could make it happen.

I sold my dogfather to my brother sometime last spring. We live together so I still get use it occasionally. I actually just bought another one from Tom the Baker the other day mainly because of the sick cuddy bear leather that came with it :thumbup:

I plan on doing some comparisons between the B11 and Dogfather. I am most likely going to have to part with one of them though because...well I bought another sick knife from Tom.

Anyways my brother and I went out back today and did a mini comparison. The DF is alot heavier, and slower in hand but is more compact and has the more comfortable handle. I think the B11 I bought a few months ago was an off one because it was around .275 thick and felt pretty heavy. This one Is lighter and looks to be in the .25 range.
 
I can pretty much gaurentee the answer is no, because it would have the potential of ending up on a non-busse knife which could bring the origin of the knife into question, whether it's a busse etc. They may be willing to switch them out for you as a customization though.

LVC beat me to the punch. I was gonna say they would probably do it for you but not sell just the handle.

I have Camp Tramp the utilizes the larger Res C handle and I would trade if you like. PM if interested.
I LOVE the Basic handle design!!
 
I love res-c and want the answer as well.
