can you carburize a carbidized lockface?

Will applying heat adversely affect the properties of the carbidized layer?

Just a guess....but I can see no reason why it would, oh and why would you need to heat a lock face?

I was thinking of heat-anodizing the framelock of my ZT560 and 550, and they have carbidized lockfaces.
