Can you clean canvas micarta?

I just got a TOPS Tracker #2 and I think it's been sitting in the case for awhile and got a lot of handling, the micarta slabs are almost black. Can some good soap and hot water get rid of some of this? Maybe something else, or is it permanent?

So I answered my own question... Yes hot water and Dawn soap works wonders!
