Can you fix a stripped out pivot screw?

I have a Police model that I bought from a forumite a while ago. While I was trying to adjust the pivot tension I managed to strip out the G-10 around the pivot hole. Allow me to explain exactly what I mean be that. I managed to remove the pivot screw and I saw that it has a sort of D shape, with one side of the screw being flat. I reasoned that the hole cut into the G-10 scales was also D shaped, so that the tension of the pivot could be adjusted without the screw turning with the allen wrench and never getting tighter. I apparently over-tightened mine and now the hole in the scales is round, not D-shaped. If I send it to customer service, can it be repaired? I'd like to sell it, but it would be a little tough to sell a defective knofe like this. Thanks in advance.
