can you handle the material?

hello all. just finished my tea and cleaning up my edc's, a case yellow peanut, a chestnut mini trapper, now a queen workhorse stockman (not all carried at once but they rotate depending on season and/or season, think i like bigger knives in the summer so its my stockman right now). after tending to their blades i start feeling the handles and it just so relaxing. with some thought, i have concluded i prefer the jigging on handles because it adds to grippage while in hand and with these sweaty palms, i need all the help i can get! the texture is also an added comfort when rubbing the handle in my pocket while walking around (a worry stone). when it comes to knife size, i would like the bone handles for smaller or medium knives. like the jigging on my trapper, i feel all peachy about it (pun intended. however when it comes to larger knives which i use alot for work i feel more comfortable using a knife that has a derlin scale (it being jigged makes it all the better which is one of many reasons why i love my stockman), just a silly paranoia in mind that big bone knives are more likly to crack when they fall, all materials have that risk but i feel more confident with a derlin at work. i love each knife for their own reasons and the handles is what makes me enjoy holding these companions through the years.
my thought on mind i would like to share with my fellow traditionalist before i hit the hay is what kind of handle do you prefer on your knives and why? hope you all can understand my tale for i am sleepy and the wording may seem off. will gladly continue chatting with you all when mind is less tired!

I think my favorite scale material is that deep rutty German stag.I only have one knife with that material at the moment but I am always looking.

I like a nice smooth bone or wood handle. To me it is more comfortable than jigged bone or gnarly stag.

I also use my pocketknife as a worry stone. I prefer natural handle materials though, they have a warmth that the synthethics don't.

I have a nice selection of worry stones to choose from. Rugged stag, elegant ivory, and classic ebony all feel good in the hand. But the most texturally interesting of handle materials is sawcut marrow bone of the sort found on my Charlow.

Natural rough areas akin to stag, smooth spots, and the strangely regular sawcut pattern provide a variety of tactile sensations. Other stuff is prettier, but for this purpose it's hard to beat the soup bones.

Without a doubt, stag is my favorite. But, I like wood and jigged bone, too. Oh, and Delrin...and acrylic...and celluloid...and ivory is nice. :)

I love collecting and looking at stag handled knives, but I prefer jigged bone, followed by sawcut Delrin in an EDC. OH

My favorite is gnarly exterior ram's horn, with lots of color and texture variation. Here's a few examples:

It might be due to the knives I grew up with, but I prefer smooth handle materials: bone and horn, but especially wood. It just feels better in my hands.

I like the appearance of deep stag the best, but I like the feel of smooth bone. I'm hoping one day to check out the sawcut bone on the Charlows!!!

I think it all depends on the knife. As much as a love the deep stag that the Germans seem to be masters of, it would look out of place on other knives. LIke for instance, I can't imagine my Resolza with anything but the smooth horn.

The stag look great here, but...

maybe not so good here?

I think the scale/handle material needs to fit the knife's cultural background. So my answers, it depends on the knife.

I like slick handles, so as long as they fill my hand. I especially am fond of the handle on my Yellow Delrin Buck 301. I don't know why they discontinued this handle material, it was a winner in my book, but I digress.

My favourites change all the time and I never seem to land on just one. The flavour of the month though is jigged bone.
