Can you help date my police?

I got a used Spyderco Police and do not know much about them. I think it is fairly old and would like to know what a rough value and rarity is on the knife.

It is stainless steel. Full serrations. The blade is stamped with POLICE pressed into the blade fairly deep. It is not black letters. The steel is ATS-55. SPYDERCO, ATS-55 and SEKI-CITY JAPAN are all pressed into the blade deep and cleanly. The clip is attached with three Phillips head screws and has a bug logo on it, the back lock has a Boyde detent.

I can't give you a value as your not a paying member but you can search completed auctions on eBay. A semi educated guess on age would be late 90's.
 
Try tickets to a ball game and a few beers maybe :) Or maybe a good action movie... I hear police like that sort of thing on a date.

Fourth from the right is ATS-55, full serrated (the short one, ground down to Kansas legal 4"). Late 90's, like '97 or '98. Not particularly rare or valuable, but they make nice users.

They're laid out in chronological order from the first generation slab-side on the left to the P-3 on the right. The scary part is, I know there are at least twice that many variations I don't have.
 
Spyderco used for the Police different steels and ATS-55 was used in the years 1998 - 2001; your knife should be from this timeframe :)

He mentioned it has a Boye Dent, which first showed up on the Police in the 2001 catalog, so I'd say late 2000 or 2001 most likely.
