Can you help identify and value this Friedr.Herder Abr.Sohn knife?

First of all hi everyone,
Just joined the forums and this place seems like a wealth of resources and information.
I found this knife at a goodwill type of store recently and got it for no other reason than thinking it looked cool.
After a few moments on ebay I realised some of them are worth a lot of money, but I wasn't able to identify what makes one more valuable than the next.
I tried reaching out to Friedr.Herder, but no luck on that end.
I've attached some photos of the knife for those who might have a little more information.

Welcome to Bladeforums.com! I look forward to the replies. Be aware that we won't be able to discuss specific dollar values here at your membership level, but your question isn't about that, so this should be a good conversation.

I did a quick Google search and found a few forums and Reddit threads wondering the same as you: What gives with the values on these knives? Our own tongueriver tongueriver posted elsewhere that it might have something to do with the fancy shield on the scales, the overall increase in vintage cutlery prices, and general lack of knowledge of collectability. I think the range of prices you are seeing is probably due to widespread ignorance of these particular knives and varying degrees of willingness to price-gouge, but I can't support that opinion with any evidence 😆.

I've equally stumbled upon several posts but nothing of substancial help to help me determine it's value.
At first I thought the listings I could find on ebay were just from sellers setting ridiculous prices,
but after playing around a little bit I figured out you could display sold listings, and sure enough many of them had been sold for several hundred dollars.
See a couple of examples here:

If your knife were a 12" or longer vintage carbon Herder with a nice, full, straight blade, you would be able to hit the sweet spot on pricing..... collectors love em. Your knife is a less-desirable, shorter butcher knife and my advice is to just let the market decide what it's willing to pay.
