The knives have been identified, they are Ted Dowell knives.

(Moderators, I don't know where to post this, if it needs to be moved please do so)

I've been trying to help a friend identify the knives in the collection he inherited. There are some beauties, but none for sale. For the most part I was able to figure out who made the knives, but I cannot figure out who made these two.

They were made by the same knifemaker I believe. The only identifying mark on either knife is a livestock brand style mark a Slash M Conjoined D (or maybe TMD conjoined).

The fixed blade is a full tang drop point with bone handle scales and red liner/spacers. Brass and steel pins.

The really unusual folder has red micarta handle scales.

Hi . their is an Italian company called Maserin they do similar styles . it mite be worth looking into .

The folder looks like the swing through Smith and Wesson from the 80's but they were all stainless.

They both look like knives made by Ted Dowell back in the 70's. Very nice! The fixed blade looks like one of his integrals. A G russell sells a "funny folder" that is very similar to the one made by TMD.

Bill and Pete but Pete looks like he put on a few lb's...

Well pete has put on a few pounds, but that's just because he's sad about Ted Dowell dying.

We figured out the slash was a T, and one google search later we found it. The knives are both Ted Dowell knives. He did some lovely work, very ahead of his time.
