Hi all :)

I've been hanging out here a lot lately and enjoy the company, so I wanted to post this here for some assistance.

Since I scored my toyz last night, I've been thinkin' about others. Not other knives, but people less fortunate, down on their luck and just needing a little something to go right for a change during these holidays to bring in some cheer...
So... I want to hold a 'paid giveaway' for 100% donation to a charitable organization (after reading other posts, I'm hesitant to say "raffle". I haven't asked Spark yet to be sure, but after reading other posts about doing similar things in the past I am fairly certain that I won't be able to hold any event that involves money for chances at prizes, even for charitable causes on this forum (Legal crap, I'm sure, is the holdup, not BF.com!! BF rocks. ). Charity auctions on ePrey are boring... Does anyone know of a website that hosts these types of contests? I'd like to run it here on BF because I am willing to donate (Busse) knife related stuff to the prize pool (including a SGW as the grand prize), all of the prize shipping, and the time needed to run a successful event for a charity decided by popular vote from BF members.
Any ideas? Thoughts? Worthy charities that would get you interested in this type of contest? ...But most importantly is where can I hold this charity contest where it'll get the right crowd's attention if not HERE???
Anyway, your comments, suggestions, assistance would be appreciated.
Thx

Have mercy on me, Cougar Allen, I mentioned 'Busse' in this post somewhere!! :D

This is what I came up with for approximate contest parameters:

EXAMPLE ONLY. NOT A VALID CONTEST. Yet, hopefully. :)

The basic rules:
$10(USD) buys you entrance into this r***** contest AND one random number, ex. "***". from 001-999, OR you may choose any number still available. I DO WANT TO ALLOW FOR ENTRANTS TO CHOOSE THEIR # if I can.
I will (would) use the Ohio daily number (night drawing if there is more than 1 per day) to determine the winner in the following FRIDAY's drawing from the contest end date. IF no number is EXACTLY MATCHED for the GRAND PRIZE, ALL participants' numbers STAND, and the contest winner will then be determined by the CLOSEST NUMBER to SATURDAY night's drawing. A tie will cause the contest to be determined by allowing ONLY the tied entrants' numbers to STAND and the CLOSEST to SUNDAY night's (or Monday night's, i.e. the next available...) daily number wins the grand prize. This way, the outcome will be determined by the end of the (chosen) weekend...

that would be the short version of it anyway... Anybody see any flaw with the method? Why would I want to do an exact match Fri. night? Well, just for one night, I want to see if any HOG can use the FORCE with enough precision to flat out nail it! LOL I might change that out later, and all of these rules are subject to modification in the interests of fun for all who entered, and the charitable org. (TBD) who receives the proceeds. Why Ohio's state lottery? Well reason #1 is pretty obvious, LOL, & #2, I don't live in Ohio, just all the more fair to pick another state lottery rather then my own.

So far this is what I'd be personally willing to throw into the prize pool.

Grand prize is looking like a New, Unused Busse 'Skeletonized Game
Warden', Choice of HogTag & Lanyard, W/insured Shipping.

2nd: Choice of 2 HogTags & 2 Lanyards, W/ Shipping
3rd: Choice of HogTag & Lanyard, w/ Shipping
4th: Choice of HogTag OR Lanyard w/ Shipping
5th: Choice of lanyard, shipping

LOL, Can ya help a Brother OUT? :D

hmmm, I need to rewrite/ edit the parameters. I see some problems. Well this is just an example, and I'll have it worked out soon enough. :) I still want assistance, ideas please!!! Feel free to nit pick the rulz, get 'legal' on it if ya want. anything'll help.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and mention another forum. I love BladeForum and if this could work here, then let's do it. If not, Usual Suspect Network has this kind of activity regularly. I hope this helps.

Really? I'll have to consider it if BF can't let me here. HERE is where I think it'll do the most good, but...!
Thx
