I went to the buck knife factory a while back and took this pic and I want to buy a knife like it with the metal handle, what would the name of it be? or where can I find something similar.

Thanks so much,
Chris

Sorry I can't help, you should get ahold of Joe Houser at the Buck factory, he'll be able to tell you about this knife. Nice looking knife, I was at the factory last year and I don't remember seeing this knife.

Richard is correct. That is a one of a kind knife made by the late Frank Buck, Chuck's brother. Frank liked big knives and most of what you see that he made is bowie-like.
I'm afraid the only way to get one like that is to contact a custom maker. Buck never made anything like that on a production basis.

Here is a production "Bowie" that is a factory restoration. It is a Model 122 Nemo made by Buck Knive Company between 1967 and 1971. The handle has been customized. It is of alternating layers of polished brass and aluminum spacers with 5 wide spacers of black micarta taken from an old Model 201 large kitchen knife. The guard and pommel are of stainless steel. The blade is satin finished and stamped BUCK,U.S.A. You might be able to accomplish what you want this way.

here is another one that may have been a Frank Buck knife ,
wateing on thoughts from Chuck and others on that possabiity..

it is possable also that it is from Mac (of the olde custom shop) if not Frank.
