Can you help with identification of this axe hatchet?

FOUND THIS INCREDIBLE AXE HATCHET AT A WEALTHY ESTATE SALE. IT HAS A MARK LIKE A "BRANDING MARK" THAT IS EITHER I AND T COMBINED OR A COMBINATION OF L AND T. I AM NOT SURE. AS SOON AS I SAW IT I KNEW IT WAS SPECIAL AND I HAD NEVER SEEN ONE LIKE THIS BEFORE. WEIGHS 1.34 POUNDS. STAINLESS BLADE WITH A HARDWOOD AND BRASS ENGRAVED HANDLE. INCREDIBLE WORKMANSHIP. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THIS COUPLE ALSO TRAVELED IN ASIA AS WELL SO I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS AMERICAN OR ASIAN. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND I WELCOME ANY INFORMATION. WORMSTER
