Can you identify this custom knife maker?

I just acquired this knife in a trade. The individual who traded it did not know the maker. He originally purchaced it from "Nordic Knives" in CA.

Maker's mark - F X
OAL - 10 3/4 "
Bolster - Brass, no guard
Handle - Exotic wood, aluminum? and brass pins, 2 handle slabs mated together so no tang is visible
Sheath, leather with fringe

I was hoping someone would be familiar with the "F X" maker's mark and could identify the craftsman from that.

Have you contacted Nordic Knives? They have always been very nice when I have dealt with them.
