Can you identify this maker's mark?

My best friend purchased this great little gents folder a few years back. The purveyor didn't know who made it. The initials appear to be 'A D'. We have talked to Al Dippold, and he says it's a fine knife and would be glad to lay claim to, but it's NOT his. ;)

Anyone know this mark? Thanks for the help. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Move me accordingly.

I have seen this signature on knives but can't recall who made them. Send this e mail to Paul Bash at A G Russel and he should be able to supply the information.

Dammit, you got me courious. I looked every "A" and "D" maker in "Knives" and found nobody who use this mark. The knife looks very good, must be a relatively known maker. Let us know what you find.

Makers get pretty inventive with their marks. That could be an FD or a backwards CR. Lot's of different possiblities.

Dragging this back up from the dead...

Tim Herman was right! We found another almost identical piece and it had Alex's newer mark (full name) and the knife was almost identical. No question in my mind. My buddy bought the second one as well. :)

Just for the curious.
