I am wondering if someone can give me a background and history on this hatchet. Age, where it's from, maybe what it could be worth? I found it at a yard sale and I wanted to know about it. It seems old and in really good shape except where someone carved their initials into the handle.

Good article Square-peg. It says they are made in Taiwan. If yours is made in the USA, It might be of better quality and therefore more valuable than Taiwan hatchets in the same condition.
