I tried a search, and couldn’t find anything on this particular situation...

Anyways, I’m thinking about doing an oxi clean wash on my xm18 3.5. The Ti is “battle blue,” which I think is electro anodized and lightly stonewashed.

Can I to the oxi treatment on top of the electro ano? I’m thinking it may come out with something unexpected, or do nothing at all. Any tips are welcome, thanks!

Take a Listo pencil and make a small (wax) ring on the inside of your handle slab. Put a drop of Oxiclean in the “nest” and see if it reacts.

Thanks for the tip!

Idk cause I haven’t tried it but I know you can use the Oxiclean first and then anodize after.

Let us know how it goes and post some pics plz. I am very curious to see how it turns out using Oxiclean on already anodized Ti.

If I do end up trying it I will definitely take some pics.

I don’t totally understand anodization, but I assume it might prevent oxidization.

Basically anodizing puts an extremely thin oxide layer on the Ti. As the layer gets thicker it changes the colour that will reflect back off the Ti. So when I anodize Ti blue the light hits the scale and the layer of anodization blocks any colours other than blue from bouncing back off the Ti and hitting my eye.

I am not sure how that will affect Oxiclean’s effect on the Ti.
