Well, can you? It a question that stumped me, but I promised to find out.

Hello Gollnick...

Thats a very good question...

I can tell you,, that it can be done for sure..
I can plate pretty much anything,,the only problem is I don't know if it can be plated directly onto Ti..There would have to be a series of plates, probably a nickle base...

I specialize in plating non mettallic objects,, if you are interested click here. http://www.mnsi.net/~ericn

I'll talk to my dad about it today and see what he says....He's my Yoda when it comes to heavy duty questions..:)

If I may ask,, Why in the world would you want to plate Brass onto Ti ? I plate Copper and Bronze BTW..

What about a gold TIN coating? It would be durable and would not tarnish, like brass.

Hey Mike..

Agreed..

A TiNi coating would be far superior,,unless there is a specific need for Brass/Bronze...

I honestly don't know why the individual asking the question wants to plate brass onto Ti. I suspect that the answer is cosmetics. I suspect that he wants the rich color and character of brass (a personal favorite of mine) without the weight.

I wonder...this is from the Titanium Finishing Company :

"Electroless Nickel on Titanium: Improves thermal conductivity. Accepts other platings. Improves high temperature oxidation and stress corrosion properties. Permits brazing and soldering."

I know we are discussing brass plating, but "Permits brazing and soldering"...I could see some uses for that.

Regards,
Greg
