Yes , you can. I was tempted to try it, ever since I got it. Today I did it.
I wedged the blade between two logs and then stood on the handle (I weigh about 176 pound)
NO problem.
Man, I like the knife more and more.

What's so strange about it? Not so uncommon in knife testing. Anyway, gives you a good idea of what the knive will withstand when prying.

Awesome! Good to know it can take the heat. :D

I do a lot of prying during deer and pig season, looks like my HEST will get a workout next year.

Well... HEY, if it makes you happy..... go for it.... Me? Oh well I tend to use mine for much more boring things like cutting and slicing, and that kind of thing, but you go right a head doing your resting thing......

Actually, I have heard of Special Operations folks using a knife as a step. Stick it into some wooden wall in a shantytown and step up. Now, nevermind the fact that you can get a boost up from your team members, 'cause that don't sell no knives! :D

I would really like a H.E.S.T. to tear up. I would like to use it for things like prying padlock hasps out of wood and stuff like that. I guess if you could get it wedged in there (NOT ONLY THE TIP!) and give it a kickstart, you might take the whole padlock hasp off of a wooden door, etc.

Are you hinting that I should test this theory? :)

Great to know but I don't think that I will try it with my 230 lbs. on knives I paid for.

No questions asked warranty. . . not saying you should, but you could. And I definitely would given a situation that called for it.

I saw a guy do that test to a mora on youtube, it took his weight no problem.

If a mora can take that, I'm sure the HEST could take a LOT more! :)

That isn't exactly something I would be testing.. but if you want to do that, it is your knife. Whatever floats your boat.

What's his name "Nos" or "Nas" that does torture tests on knives on youtube finally made an RC-4 give up the ghost testing it that way. He bounced on it though. I'll pass.
