Can you sharpen a serrated blade with a belt grinder?

Hello all. I have a nice 1x42" Kalamazoo 1SM belt grinder that I use for sharpening from time to time. It's harder than it looks, but gradually I've gotten pretty good at sharpening blades with my Kalamazoo. I've never tackled a serrated edge with it, though. Anybody know if this is possible?

It is but you also need a leather or paper polishing wheel for finishing.

Holding the blade nearly flat to the belt you grind the BACKSIDE OF THE SERRATED BLADE which will raise a burr on the front of the serrations. Buff off the burr and your good to go.

You can also use a felt belt with a fine polish compound to resharpen serrations on a belt sander.

If you use a belt on the backside as Jason B. suggested, make sure it's a fine one. It doesn't take much to start grinding off the serrations.
