Can you sharpen VG-10 and CTS- BD1 on normal waterstones?

Can you sharpen these two steels on traditional Naniwa water stones or are diamond stones preferred?

You'll have no issue sharpening them on waterstones

My vg 10 and s110 spydercos get very sharp when I start with a medium/ fine diamond and then go to my super fine water stones

VG-10 and BD1 are low alloy steels (simple steels) and can be sharpened on nearly any abrasive.

VG-10 can be a little tougher to sharpen depending on who made it but still doesn't require harder diamond abrasives like S110v or the like.

While I find Supers to be on the slightly slow side, they will definitely be able to give you an excellent edge. Apply a micro on a flushed and lightly dried Super and you are done

ignoring the technicals, and speaking from experience, vg-10 is one of the easiest steel i've ever sharpened
