I did a search on the forum and the subject of what our first knives as a kid were has been done but I was interested in seeing those first knives. Whether you still have them or pictures of you using them back in the day.

I'll start off with mine. It's about 5 1/2" long and marked MM10-70 Stainless Steel Japan. I carried this thing everywhere.

I beg forgiveness if this is a worn out topic.

Bring'm on

The one that got in the door to Bladeforums and off to find better and better knives, which inspired my name....which I wish I could change since the knife is a POS.....

I was searching the net for information on the 4034 steel only to stumble upon the best website on the net, bladeforums, and the rest was history. Now I found my favorite steel s90v and handle material titanium and locking mech, framelock.

So I have to pay homage to this POS.

Wow, I can't even say for sure what my first knife was! I think it was some pakistan lockblade I won out of a carnival machine when I was like five years old. Pretty sure I used it to death. :)

Had a decent sized collection that was stollen around 14 years ago, so all of my surviving older blades are gone. :grumpy:

This is my first "real" knife.
Have bought with my dad when i was a young boy.
Think i was about 8-10 years old.

Did have lots of fun with it and it was a great cutter.
It's about 25 years old now and still own it.
The biggest bang for the bucks for me.

I still have mine aswell. My dad bought it for me in 1994 at a mall knife shop. I got it for making all A's on my fourth grade report card. It is a bear and sons mini manager lockback with engraved bolsters. One side has the year and the other has my initials. It means for to me than any other knife I own since he passed away the following year. I'll post some pics of it tonight.

Wish I had my first knife to show. All of my knives from when I was a kid got ripped off about 15yrs ago. I didn't have them locked up in my safe, they weren't worth much except to me. Scumbags.

Here is a pic of my first. Sorry about the quality as I used my phone. It is a little case lockback that a family friend gave to me and one to my brother. I think I was about 9 years old.

I've had this one for about 30 years. Used it for cleaning game when I was younger. It hasn't cut anything in a very long time.

My dad gave me this Browning when I was around 11, I think.
I still have it but it hasn't been used in about 20 years.

Wish I had a picture, but I still have the knife with a broken tip. It is a Buck 412 scoutlite. It was a christmas present from my dad when I was 8 years old or so. I'm not going to do the math, but I was in first grade.

No. My first knife was a small stockman. It didn't take me long to snap two out of three blades off of it. I do have a couple knives from when I was a kid, but they're just cheapos. The Boy Scout lockback is still a good one, though. Maybe I'll post a pic later.

I cannot remember my first, but it probably sucked anyway. I have had knives as long as I can remember, but the one that I have had the longest is cheap SAK knockoff that I got for Christmas one year as a kid. Nothing to post pics over. I didn't get a decent knife until I bought a Gerber while I was in High School during the mid to late 90's. You know, back when they actually listed the blade steel instead of 'Surgical Stainless.'

No pic, but first knife was a small Buck (not a 110) that my Dad gave me. I was 8 or 9 so this would've been around '66. I traded it to an older kid up the road for a plastic water pistol that probably cost 15 cents. Can you say 'taken advantage of'? Dad was not pleased.

Johnny Cyr, I hope you still have that little Buck.

The one on the right I got back when I was about 8, used and abused to hell and back. Used to be my dads from when HE was about 15, then he put it in the hands of an 8 year old; its been a harsh life for this thing. I've sharpened it on rocks, pryed apart countless things and have snapped the tip, THROWN it constantly... this thing's seen a ton of trout and Salmon too, not all abuse.

The left two are what I carry now, depending on whether I think I need a one hand opener that day or not. Case Trapperlock and a W. Kneissler... farmer's soddie I guess.

Here is my first. My brother and I both received one from Santa one year a long time ago. I think he still has his. I don't know much about it other then it is a red alox SAK and I know it's old because there is just a cross and not the cross in the shield logo for Victorinox. If anyone has more info, like year please let me know

Mine, which I still own, is a Schrade 2 bade trapper. My grandfather helped my buy it at a little local market for the grand total of $14 if I remember correctly. It was MIA for 2yrs. in the depths of my parents couch. They bought a new couch and as the were moving the old one, it fell out. That was a good day.

Mine was a PONY 3 imitation pearl scaled lockback. I found it in the school yard in third grade and lost it soon after. I have no idea now what kind of cheap Pakistani crap it was but for a few days I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Then Gramps gave me an uncle henry stockman when I was eight and I still have the scar on my index finger from it. Wish I still had it cause all I can find to replace it is chinese crap.

No I can't.

My first knife was a Victorianockoff. I got chawed on by a lawnmower.
