Can you switch out the scales on the new g10 grips?

I have a pair of Wilkins grips to throw on a mini grip but I haven't purchased the knife yet. I am actually thinking about buying a 555-1 for the upgraded steel. I wanted to make sure I can take the g10 scales off. Has anyone done this? I don't want a Ritter because I prefer the hole and it looks like there are no ritters with the thumb hole. Thanks!

Yes, you can switch the scales.

Yes. Many of us have switched out the factory scales with better ones. Typically you'll need T10 torx drivers for the pivot bolt, and T6 for handle, clip and stop pin screws. I am sure there are YouTube videos out there to take you through the process.

Thanks for the reply. I know with the plastic handle grips you can change them. I just hadn't seen it done with the new g10 grips. I wasn't sure if it were different since they have back spacers etc.

I'm just throwing this out there but...

I was looking at blue Ti screws for my 555-1 on EBay. The person selling them said they would not work with the regular valox scaled 555 - but didn't explain why.

Anyone know the difference?
