I'd like one with the polished blade, but if i can find ANY of them new, i'd like to know where.

thanks guys

Might want to try starting a Wanted To Buy thread in the Exchange, WTB: Knives section. Other than that, occasionally they pop up at shows Busse Combat attends...such as the Knob Creek gun shoot next weekend in Kentucky. They are out of production, so these two options might be your best bet. BTW, there is a Busse forum here on BladeForums. :)

Good Hunting!

Also, be sure to cruise the Busse for sale sub-forum on here.

Right!!! ...How could I have forgotten to include this, and it may be the best option to find one!! :o Thanks, man!

I want this model... the one pictured has sold, and i don't think they made many with that finish :(

thanks guys, i'm cruising the hell out of the forum

I ordered one from Garth at the Custom Shop last year. Get in touch with him. (After Knob Creek)

I see you're stepping up your budget a bit. Might also look into the Scrapizashi, and the Rodent Rucki if that's the case. Also, some of Barry Dawson's work.

i'm honestly being highly stupid by upping my price range by that much. I really can't afford it, but I am so impressed by INFI steel, that i'm going to sell one of my many toys to get my hands on one.

If any of you are under the impression that there's another steel out there that will perform as well as INFI steel and cost me less money, PLEASE let me know and save me from myself.

I'm not really seeing INFI steel as being worth the price, honestly. Sure, it's a REALLY good steel. Maybe the best out there. But the differences are going to be measured in barely visible increments really. I mean, people swear by their ESEE's and Beckers; 1095 well done is amazingly good. There's a thread where a guy takes a BK2 and batons it through everything from concrete bricks to a refrigerator. Is INFI going to do better, and honestly, if you're dropping a grand on it, are you even going to use it for anything that might merit having a super steel? I know I wouldn't.

Himalayan Imports khuks are made out of steel from the springs of old Mercedes trucks. Those are durable as heck.

I've also got a Waki that I picked up from a fellow named Badger at a Ren Faire. Grind lines are good but not nearly at the level of some of the custom makers here, but it's got a limited lifetime warranty, and can chop through a car door without losing edge retention. That only cost me 270. Baltimore Knife and Sword makes some very durable products, and we're not talking any special steel here.

There's a WIDE variety of steels that, if done well, will have performance and durability that you won't be disappointed with. I'd definitely be looking at custom, if you're willing to spend on Bussekin, but I don't know that I will ever be interested in dropping that kind of cash. The only one that really calls to me from the BUSSE lineup is the combat gladius, and I'd rather get John Gage's version. I've got one in the works at BKS though, which will satisfy that craving, and at a much lower price.

Speaking of which, you might talk to Matt at BKS. I've seen their blades take a LOT of abuse; they're built for stage combat and beating on things, and he can probably cut you a custom order that will save you a ton of money.

Don't give up. I've got quite a few myself ... as have a number of other addicts.

Your ideal blade is out there.

If you really love that handle, you could also buy any Satin AK-47, then ship it off to the Busse Custom Shop for a re-handling.

If you follow the advice above, you'll get what you want. Just be patient.

i still seriously want one of these, but it's going to be several months before I can get the funds together to buy one.

IMO the idea of spending that huge amount of $ for a production blade is laughable at best. I've never had the need to baton through a concrete block and I have a $25 Camillus which has done everything I've asked of it for over twenty years. It's an internal tang 1095 traditional knife that the mall ninjas loathe, but it works for me.

I'd much rather put the money into another AR15 instead.
