I've got a Buck 110 with either scratches or tough gritty crud on the brass end, not sure yet.

I use micro mesh on my nickel-steel guitar frets, just want to be sure whether or not it's okay to use on brass.

Have you checked the Micro Mesh website? I remember when I purchased a kit years ago they had a list of materials it was designed to be used for.

I don't think it's a problem at all. I've used it to finish lots of things on my lathe from acrylic and epoxy and superglue to wood and I've polished by default some of the steel guides that hold some blanks. Those pads will polish most anything to a crystal clear or mirror finish.

Please note that highly polished brass might look more like nickel silver.

Not my picture but here is a knife that was sent to Buck for a Spa treatment. The highly polished brass lost its yellowish tone.

Just wanted to point this out.
