Can You Whittle These 3 Down to One for Life?

OK, I have 3 folders that I love all equally.
I've been playing a mind game of "if I had to choose one of these to carry for the rest of my life, and sell the other 2, what would I do?"
My knives:
- Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 21 Insingo
- Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2
- Spyderco PM2 (K390)
What would you do?
Your reasoning?
Thanks for playing along.

Get all antsy a week after selling two of them and rush out and go on a buying spree like you never thought possible would be my guess....

I mean - seriously - that's the kind of thing some middle-age divorced guy does when, after 26 years of marriage to the same woman, he finds himself drunk in a cat house in Nevada with the kids' college fund.

My guess would be the Sebenza, for all the reasons that have been repeated in post after post. Most important of those is that their warranty support is some of the best, and they don't look to be going anywhere, for a while.

(Warranty turn-around is three weeks under even the best of circumstances though, so let's be real: you're going to need at least two knives.)

I actually have the same 3 knives (even the k390 steel on the PM2)! This weekend sold the CRK. It was the drop point. Had it been an insingo I wouldn't have.

The gb2 is my top pick. It's the keeper.

Only sold the CRK because I want to replace it with one in S45VN soon.

The k390 is great, but the PM2 comes in so many great steels anyway.

The PM2 is one that would be easy to cull, for me. I don't care for the compression lock and overall the other two carry much nicer.

This not one of those "It can be only one" situations.
Keep all 3 and use them for different tasks, or even for the same ones.
After all I presume you use more than one knife in the kitchen too.
There was a reason you kept them after you bought them. You like them.
Keep them and enjoy them.
As for keeping your mind busy, you can play other mind games. It is not that you have only a single choice there either.
Life is too short to unnecessarily complicate it further. It is already complicated as it is, no need to add to the mess.

Exactly, lol.

I read his post, and the only thing I could hear in my mind was my own voice screaming :"But why!?!"

I mean as others have said if you are looking for one for life its going to be hard to beat the Sebenza. Not only for the F&F, the action, and all the other things that make a CRK product what it is but its also the unique factor. There are a lot of PM2s and GB2s out there regardless of the steel. CRK is generally a cut above so that would be my choice. YMMV

Great lineup, and some of my favorites!

I carry a Sebenza every day, but if I could only have one knife, it would be a PM2, and K390 could easily be my choice. Its rarely too small or too large, and the blade is prefect for most tasks. For me, the PM2 wins in pure utility.

I own the CRK and Pm2. I like the build and durability of the CRK, but the thumb studs are too smooth/small for me to deploy as fast as PM2. PM2 is also lighter...Maybe a PM2with ti scales or a spyderco slyz bowie? If going larger, I really like the look of the Spartan Harsey Folder.

I also see the Curtiss Cruze pop up once in a while...looks nice, but not sure if it would give me a nice secure grip like the CRK.

If I had to sell that means that I need money, SO, I would keep the PM2, the k390 walks all over s35vn on the Reeve. The Reeve would fetch a higher price than either of the other 2. The Bradley is sweet but for me you just can't beat that k390. As far as the BEST warranty in the business, they all warranty against manufacture defects, even Reeve won't back abuse. By the way I by no means am bashing any of the 3. While I don't own the Bradley, or Pm2, not a fan of compression lock, I do have a Delica and Endela in the k390, that is how I based my decision. AND yes I do own 2- Reeves, small regular in s30v and small insingo-21. the regular i will never part with or use because it is more rare. the insingo i really like but the clip just doesn't work for me no matter how i try, if I do carry it it is in a leather sheath
thanks for listening, Troy

Keep the GB2.
The blade on the PM2 might not be as solid as the other two. And while the GB2 is not built as well as the Sebenza, it will still last a lifetime, so why not enjoy the money we get from selling the other two?
And the GB2 is the thinnest behind the edge.

The only reason to go with the Sebenza is better corrosion resistance, if you live near the ocean.

what to do? easy answer, buy more knives. open your options. not a one knife person and never will be. heck, that would screw up my EDC, would be 4 or 5 knives short
