As a good citizen who wants to respect the law, I searched for details of what kind of knife I can carry on me, so I mailed the "Department of Justice Canada " (then after one month without answer, I started a thread here :P)

They told me that to get an answer, I should communicate with the Canada Firearms center.

I just got their answer:

"Sorry, our role is to give informations about the law on firearms"

Damn, who in this counrty take care of blades? It's easier to arrest s-o and tell him he has an illegal knife than to tell him what's illegal and what is not.

I want to separate from this country.
Vive le Québec libre.
 
No problem. Just pay back your part of the country's debt, get your own currency, your own social programs, your own passport,pay back what Canada put into Quebec Hydro,be prepared for most of the major company headquarters to relocate,etc,etc,etc,...or you could just continue to be a good law abiding citizen and continue to carry the tool you presently carry.:p

Actually, (politically and legaly) it would be VERY difficult for you and like minded traitors to separate.

BTW, an independent Quebec would probably have laws that are even worse.

And Rededgel; I DID searched on the Internet, but prohibited laws are federal and knives laws are municipals, I searched for 2 weaks to know what I CAN carry, once again a jerk who doesn't know what he's talking about. So If you don't know what you're talking about, JUST SHUP UP!

If you really want to understand Canadian knife laws you must consult a lawyer. Anyone else will give you the run around. That is what happened when I friend of mine emailed the police. Everyone you ask will direct you to someone else.

You're the one showing disrespect, all out of proportion to the "provocation". Canada/Quebec in microcosm.
