Try this site http://www.lebaron.ca/ They are located in Montrel, Qc

A half SE Manix for 144$ Can. seems a good price. But here is the good part. I called them and asked if it would be possible to order a special model (a manix PE ou Lil-Temp) and said there is no problem, at no extra charge. The downside is that they order knife 2-3 times a year only.
But hey, imagine: You have time to think if it is not an impulsive buying (Wife will love this) and no risk with custom agent. Plus, they ship nationwide. The manager, whom I forgot the name, took mine and will call me when he will be ready to order Spydies. A little down payment, no risk and great services, what more can you ask...

BTW, I'm not working there or have any strings with the company. I just want people to know there is a good price risk free way to own mahvellous blade in Canada, order than the standard delica, police or lady bug...

That's interesting about Lebaron's.

I didn't know that they did special orders like that.
Something to keep in mind.
I wonder if they'll take special orders from a Toronto address, as they won't take mail order for regular catalogue merchandise from a Toronto-area address; they insist that you go to a store.

If you do make a special order, let us know how it turns out for you.

LeBaron is a good store. I am a regular there as well. They have great prices for the knives with a decent selection also. They have 4 stores in Canada I think. :)

Hello Fellow Canuks

So far I've had no problem with getting blades into Canada as long as they were legal.

The shipping method seems to be the most important factor in bringing them in. USPS I've found is best from stateside. UPS is definately NOT AN OPTION ! ! !

Many eBay purchases and knife trades from people stateside have gone off without a hitch. I've heard of many horror stories and have been bitten by Canada Customs on a few items but no knives so far (fingers crossed).

As for special orders, I've found many stores locally are more than willing to place them and take my money. But to be honest, I've gotten the best deals on Spydercos from eBay (well, well below list). Even got a Cuda Maxx for less than half of retail (including S&H from the US).

Good Luck

Hi pageophile,

Haha UPS, tell me about it, man. I never get a clue on the rationale of their delivery system. Say u get a package notice on Monday, if u don't pick the package up, they will deliver it again on Tuesday instead of simply dropping it off to their office or a postal outlet for u to pick it up by yourself. Then u call them and arrange for a pick up, they will tell u that the package is not "ready" for pick up within 24 hours.. duh.. u ended up getting it on Thursday.. sigh....

Spydercos + Canada + no customs = happiness

I'm more PO'd by them charging 45+ dollars for a brokerage fee, no matter the price of the item.

So on top of customs/duty fees UPS nails you for more money. I did get a small measure of revenge one time. A computer part came in from Stateside (20CDN) and UPS wanted 52CDN for customs/duty & brokerage. I tried to explain that they wanted me to pay more than double the cost of the item in fees. The lady didn't seem to care and I declined the item. The look on her face was priceless . . . It seems that when you decline and item UPS becomes responsible for all of the fees. Chew on that UPS, haven't dealt with them since.

Excellent info!

I might ask them about the Paramilitary. It seems hard to find here in Canada...
