Hey all,

Just got finished making a new jacket for my canadian belt knife (the pictures M3mphis posted in the picture thread were no small part fo the motivation to get it finished!

Anyway, thought I'd share the pictures here and try to encourage some comments and talk about thsi wonderful tarditional design, it is very comfortable int he ahnd and despite what I imaged it does not feel awkward in tasks other the slciing, in fact it seems to revekl in alsmot everything. I've mostly been suing it in the kitchen but hope to get some fire pre and other tasks done with it soon.

I actualy decided to stay away form belt loops or clips for this sheath, it just felt betetr to have one you slipepd behind a belt rather then atatched for this fella, feels mroe traditional.

I've been tryign to learn how to distress leather, but so far haven't found a way I like. I noticed however that the inside fo this leath looked how I wish I could amke the outside look (if you get my drift) I'm sre your not meant to sue the inside as the outside for some very god reasons but this one's for me and I don't know any of them, so I went ahead and turend it inside out.

I did apply sveral more dyeing and waterproffin layers to both side to be "safe"

As you can see I have some work to do before ti develops a nice JK worthy patina, but hopefully ti has some more inetersting work (and pictrues) ahead of it.

If you have a CBK please feel free to post your pictures, comments, etc. This one also has ebony scales and brass pins. It's one fo the most striking designs I've seen posted arodun ehre and I'm very happy to now have one (and still find it stricking!)

Thanks for checking it out!

The sheath does look more traditional that way, good idea. I firmly believe the CBK is one of the more versatile designs there is, a good all around knife.

You just had to start this thread, didn't you. You know how badly some of us want one so you just couldn't help yourself.:D
Thanks.

Nice Pete!

I like it!

Oh yes, a very striking rendition of the CBK. I decided on Maroon micarta for mine. I know I have posted these before but here they are again (I need to quit being lazy and take some pictures when I'm using my knife, these are getting a little stale ;))

Bright and shiny

Nice little patina going on here

A little fire prep

Slicing what will become breakfast

Trapping a soon to be dead tick

I use mine for everything a knife of this size can do (that I have any interest in) and haven't found a fault yet. I had a buddy try to talk me out of a CBK for my first custom purchase... glad I didn't listen:cool:
