I've been interested in getting a Honshu Karambit for a while, but am hesitant because although I've seen many people say they are legal (and canada based suppliers selling them) the spike on the ring has me wondering if it conflicts with this part of the prohibited weapons schedule "Any finger ring that has one or more blades or sharp objects that are capable of being projected from the surface of the ring." being listed as illegal. Does that only apply to weapons that are primarily a finger ring or does it apply to this knife as well?

It is specifically directed towards finger rings being used as spikes. The spike protrudes from the underside of the ring so when you slap someone, the spike will stab them. Or if it protrudes off the knuckle when you punch them, but I think that would hurt you as well. Intent being used as a concealed weapon.
