Murray White has already done a superb job of showing you folks the incredible range of talent that is represented each year at the Fall and Spring shows of the Canadian Knifemakers Guild. Here are a few more candid photos of the makers who were at the 2005 Spring show. (Better late than never, eh?)

Renowned Canadian collector Murray White, with his lovely wife Phyllis, sits behind the table showcasing just a small portion of his collection of knives from the cream of an international crop of makers. Open in front of Murray is the latest book by Dr. David Darom - which just happens to contain several knives that are part of the extensive collection of Mr. White.

Dr. Darom's book - a visual smorgasbord of his superb color photographs and detailed text - surrounded by a few exquisite examples from the world's top makers.

Two recent additions to Mr. White's collection, obtained at the CKG show a few weeks ago: two stunning fixed blades from a Canadian legend, the Québec knife and sword maker José C. de Braga

From Halifax, Nova Scotia: Matt Stocker and his wife Cathy. Matt is well known for the 'working' fixed blades he's been making for local hunters, but over the past two years he's also dropped the gauntlet into the arena of tactical and dress folders. How do they stack up? Well, anal-retentive 'yours truly' owns four of them already.

The lovely Mrs. Tichbourne, Carol, obviously enjoying a conversation with a collector.

George Tichbourne in conversation with Quebec knifemaker and origami artiste extraordinaire, Christoph Deringer. The tiny, fantastic origami (Japanese paper folding) animals that Christoph fashions so nonchalantly as he's conversing with show visitors are quickly becoming sought-after collectible CKG show memorabilia. I'm the proud owner of a fox and - what else - a cockroach.
