I know of only one online dealer of well known production knives in Canada and that is www.Knifezone.ca. There is also site called kuttersknives.com but they are just a retail store that went online and doesn't display prices. Does anyonw know of any others? I hate paying ridiculous retail prices in stores or have to pay large customs duties and hassles if I order from U.S. online retailers.

It's always good to spend in your own country but I've gotten better deals from mail-ordering from the U.S.

Even with duties and taxes, and shipping, I've saved a lot more by finding bargains through the internet from sources like www.discountknives.com, and 1STOPKNIFESHOP.

As for Canada, don't forget www.houseofknives.ca which always has a good selection of high-end folders.

Thank you all for giving me some more options. Now can anyone help me with getting some money together so I can go on a spending spree with all the new stores you've told me about?

I would second the suggestion for ProEdge.

I have bought several knives from Murray and if he has what you're looking for his prices are almost unbeatable. I would suggest just e-mailing him your wish list and see what he has.

I think that's a good endorsement to say that I live in America and occasionally buy knives from a dealer in Canada. :)

I can happily second the praise for Murray Haday at ProEdge. He's a great guy and a pleasure to deal with.
The best selection currently seems to be TrueNorth. Quite impressive. I haven't had the pleasure yet, but the word is very positive.
Some people have good things to say about S & R. My experiences haven't been as positive, but if you can get them to agree to a fair price I'm sure they are good folks.
You shouldn't ignore dealing with custom makers directly and most of the Canadians [but not all]can be accessed through the CKG site.
We have so many great makers who are also great guys that you really should check them out. The variety is amazing. Greg Lightfoot, Wally Hayes, George Tichbourne, Brian Tighe, John Freeman, Peter Wile, Eric Elson, Jeff Diotte, Thomas Haslinger, Chrisoph Deringer, Bud Weston... and many more whom I could also mention. The list is huge.
For fixed blades particularly, customs are a real bargain IMHO.
And don't forget Normark [Eric] for superb sheaths.
We've got some great guys up here.
