Canadian purchases shipped to US address

Hi. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post...hope so.
I am wondering if it is acceptable for me to make a purchase when the seller states US sales only if I have the item shipped to a US address. I live about an hour from the border and their is a parcel service that receives packages and holds them for pick up just south of the border. I imagine this would depend if the buyer is comfortable in doing so but just wanted to be upfront in case it is generally frowned upon or against the rules. I don't know the individual running the service personally but it is a pretty common practice in my city and many people use it.
I would be upfront with the seller...hope it doesn't seem shady. Most people here don't seem to trust Canadians as it is :D
Would using this service qualify me for US only sales?

"US only" is not a legal matter, just a statement by the seller that he is more comfortable selling within the US. When a Canadian asks if he can make an exception, he may say yes. Or he may go along with a parcel service. It is always worth asking.
 
The seller might have his PayPal parameters set to receive payment only from those whose PP account is linked to a USA bank. Most likely your PP is linked to a bank in Canada, so PP would automatically block you from paying.
Many USA sellers who state "USA sales only" actually mean they will only ship to a USA address, whereas others mean that your PP account must be linked to a bank in USA as well only shipping to a USA address. If this latter is the case many sellers are willing to reset their PP parameters to allow you to pay.
If your PP is set up to make "instant transfer" then the seller will receive your payment immediately just the same as if you were linked to a bank in USA.
I have made about 9,000 PP payments to USA sellers. My PP is linked to a bank in Canada but as i live close to the border (along with 80% of the Cdn. population), i have a USA shipping address.

Thanks Kootenay, I have made plenty of US purchases through my paypal as well. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't breaking blade forum specific protocol
