Two weeks ago I spent a few days up in Canada, and I made a new friend while I was there:
I hardly ever see butterflies in WA any more, but they were everywhere up at lake Shuswap. This one apparently liked people, because it landed on the railing right in front of me and allowed me to pick it up. I passed it around to a few other people, then ran it next door to show the ladies my bug wrangling skills.
These pictures were actually taken at the butterfly's request. It started posing, spinning in circles and slowly waving it's wings at the camera.
I tried a few times to catch a second one, but none of the others were brave enough to let me hold them.
