Hello, I just got a Canal Street Boy's knife, the one with dusty gold or yellow G10 scales, from the very nice Richard Lanigan. I'm not sure he knows this, though he's an expert, but my knife has no shield, like a prototype, but without the Prototype stamp. Does anyone know about this particular knife or others they may have made without a stamp? Thank you very much.

Just to make it easier to see the knife in question.Hope you don't mind Laurel.
I am sorry to say I know nothing about it except I like it.

That's most likely an overrun knife that was never shielded. We always made orders with about a ten percent overrun in case there were rejects or broken covers. I believe these were originally Made for A.G. Russell.

Thank you. Were you a maker at CSC? You're right about (the boys gold g10's) being made for AG Russell, that's what I've read elsewhere too. Laurel

Laurel, yes I was there for about six or seven years. The G10 was nice stuff, I love the texture and layered effect. That was one of the last knives we made, just before the Bladeforums knife.

I don't have that particular model but I believe the Eric's Jack from 2014 is essentially the same knife in stag handles. Here's a photo of mine when it was new. It's one of my nicest pocket knives and I've been carrying it a lot recently.

I agree, another sweet knife from CSC, and ea42/Eric, you made great stuff!

missed the chance for one of those, they were cool! searched high and low for an eric's jack tho. managed to score one the other year. the 2014's back up!

There were 100 made as a stainless steel alternative to the 2014 Trad forum knife. John Lloyd donated the stag for the BF knife and the Eric's Jack that year. Here's another pic of a very nice knife.

I've got the CSC Boy's Knife in Zebrawood. It's right at the sweet spot in size to me - right around 3 1/4".
